It's been quite along time since I've last updated my blog but i plan on doing updates 3-4 times a week once i start playing poker again on a regular basis. For those of you that don't know, i went on a sick run in September of '08. I deposited roughly $600, within a week i had taken down the biggest tournament of my life at the time, winning alittle under $700, which brought my bankroll to roughly $1400. It was at this time that i was on vacation from work, and within that week i turned that $1400 to $5200, which at the time was alittle over $6000 Canadian. Of course it all came crashing down one night when i wasn't in the right state of mind to be playing poker, and within 3 hours i was broke. Let that be a lesson to everyone, no matter how good of a poker player you are, if you continue to bring your whole roll to one table you will go broke. So that's what happened i went broke playing $10000NL.
Over the course of the last 7 months i continued to play poker and grind it out and had success, but still in the back in my mind was what happened that night in October. I have not made any major deposits on a poker site in months but this Friday may 22ND i will be making a large deposit, to get myself back in the game. After alot of thought, i have decided to stray away from the main stream sites (Poker stars/Full tilt poker) and focus on a site that has a history of weak players and soft tournaments. Pacific Poker will be my home for the time being. Although their software is not the greatest there is such a great sign up bonus that it couldn't be ignored. They are offering a 125% sign up bonus. 50% up front as a instant bonus and a 75% pending bonus which i will need to accumulate a set amount of points to unlock the money. What this means is, I will be depositing $300, so i will get a 50% instant bonus that will be added to my bankroll right away ($150) and a pending bonus of 75% equal to $225. Needless to say this is an offer i couldn't pass up. So with a starting bankroll of roughly $400-$450 i will be playing 25nl until i build my bankroll to $1000 then I'll move on to 50nl and take it from there.
Well that's everything for now, just wanted to give a quick update on what my plans for the future.
See ya at the tables
